The articles I write can be light and humorous, or thoughtful, provocative and inspiring. As such, my articles have received recognition by a former ethnic news medium, New American Media.
Frank Moraga is the editor of Amigos805, a regional publication for Ventura and Santa County, California. Above all else, Amigos805 is dedicated to “bringing cultures together by sharing information.”
Mr. Moraga writes:
Since his first column on Feb. 3, 2011 “Our thoughts, our money, our life,” the www.Amigos805.com audience in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties region have been blessed with the written wisdom of David Magallanes. From articles exploring family life, to cultural heritage and education, David has explored each subject with skill, a personal insight and a gentle guiding hand to help readers explore a variety of subjects and think about how they impact their daily lives. David’s bilingual columns have also opened the door to a whole new, and often under-served community in the region. May our readers continue to be blessed by this wonderful, gifted and gentle voice. — Frank X. Moraga, editor/Publisher, www.Amigos805.com.
Mr. Moraga is a lifetime member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Also, he has served as a business and City of Oxnard reporter for the Ventura Star-Free Press, business editor for the Oxnard Press-Courier. Likewise, he was the business editor and director of diversity for the Ventura County Star and general manager of the Star’s former bilingual weekly newspaper, Mi Estrella.
I have written bilingual (English/Spanish) articles for the Amigos805 regional newsletter since 2011
As Mr. Moraga has testified above, my articles have covered a wide range of topics, in a variety of styles. I have written about history, religion, philosophy, politics, current events, technology, ethnic issues, and personal stories. Before writing, I make sure to study pertinent topics. Similarly, research is an important component of my writing.
For your writing project, I can do the same. I always strive to write credibly and properly.
My articles in Amigos805 are always bilingual (English/Spanish). I can write for you in English or Spanish or both. However, I do not simply use Google Translate in my work! Correct translations require the human eye, along with insight into the culture and the region in which the language is spoken. Accordingly, I am keenly aware of the nuances of language.
